Jabungu Stinging Bees: Organic Honey Production Project

The Jabungu Stinging Bees: Organic Honey Production Project is a vital part of our mission in Magugu. We launched this initiative to improve pollination and create sustainable food sources. Our project is located near Goldenhill Ground in Sarame. Currently, our bees support a thriving 3-acre fruit farm. These bees are essential for a productive and healthy ecosystem.

Advancing Organic Honey Production in Magugu

We follow strict natural standards for our Organic honey production. Our team never uses chemicals or synthetic pesticides on the land. Instead, we use organic manure from our cattle to nourish the soil. This ensures that the stinging bees collect pure nectar from healthy flowers. Consequently, the honey we harvest is 100% natural and medicinal. Everyone at the camp works together to protect and manage our bee colonies.

Why Our Honey Is Unique

Our honey stands out because of the diversity of the Jabungu farm:

  • Diverse Flavors: Our bees visit Mango, Papaya, Passion Fruit, and Orange trees.

  • Raw Quality: We harvest the honey manually to keep all natural enzymes intact.

  • Healing Power: Moringa and Lemon trees add unique antimicrobial properties to the honey.

  • Eco-Friendly: We combine traditional knowledge with modern hives to save the bees.

The Community Tree Nursery

We are also planning to implement a Community Tree Nursery. This nursery is a key need for the Sarame village. It will produce small fruit trees and bee-friendly plants for our neighbors. By sharing these resources, we help the local community start their own sustainable gardens. This nursery is a vital step toward a greener local environment.

Creating a Sustainable Income

Our project produces more than just healthy food. We also harvest organic beeswax and propolis for the local market. These products provide a source of income to support the foundation’s work. Furthermore, we train local youth in beekeeping and permaculture. This creates new jobs and protects the biodiversity of Tanzania. Our goal is to make Magugu a leader in sustainable, bee-friendly agriculture.

Join Our Organic Honey Production Journey

The Jabungu Stinging Bees: Organic Honey Production Project needs your support to grow. We are looking for partners to help us scale from 20 to 200. Your contributions will go directly toward:

  1. Purchasing modern protective gear  for our workers.
  2. Purchase mordern hives and shift from traditional hives to which we are depending on them now

Would you like to help us build a hive today? Please contact the Jabungu Foundation to learn how you can donate or volunteer. Together, we can create a sweet and fruitful future for the children of Magugu.
