Goldenhill: A Modern Vocational Training School in Manyara

Vocational training school excellence starts with building careers, not just classrooms. Through this initiative, the Jabungu Foundation actively transforms the future of Tanzanian youth by providing practical skills and professional excellence.

The Problem: The Education Gap in Sarame Village

In the quiet countryside of Sarame Village, located in the Magugu ward of the Manyara Region, a generation of young people faces a silent crisis. Despite their talent and ambition, the youth of Sarame have long been trapped by a lack of access to practical education. Without a local vocational center, many are forced to abandon their studies after primary or secondary school and go, leading to high rates of unemployment and early economic hardship. The heavy burden of poverty in this specific region of Manyara meant that for years, the “countryside” was being left behind, with no clear path for young men and women to gain the technical skills needed to build a modern career.

A Personal Mission: From the Desk of Our Director

The vision for Goldenhill is not just a professional goal; it is a personal one. Our Founder and Director, Mr. Agustino, knows the struggles of his community intimately because he lived them.

Growing up in this region, Mr. Agustino was one of the many youths directly affected by the lack of educational resources. Like many children in the Manyara countryside, he was forced to prioritize the survival of the family over his own education, spending his early years herding cattle across the plains of Gendi. This responsibility meant he was forced to start school much later than his peers, constantly fighting against the clock to catch up on the opportunities he was nearly denied.

i believe in creativity, commitment and creativityy for success to be you partner. I am building Goldenhill because I don't want the next generation of Sarame to have to choose between their family's cattle and their own future. I went to school late so that they can go to school on time, equipped with skills that will change their lives forever.
Mr. Agustino, Director.
Founder and Director of jabungu foundation

This lived experience is why the Jabungu Foundation is so committed to this specific college. We aren’t just building classrooms; we are building the opportunities that our Director once had to fight so hard to find.

The Solution: A Vocational Training School for Skill-Based Transformation

To break this cycle, we launched Goldenhill Vocational College, one of the most ambitious Jabungu Foundation projects to date. Our solution was to bring high-quality, practical training directly to the rural heart of Magugu. By establishing a college right in Sarame Village, we are removing the barriers of distance and cost. Our focus is on providing “hands-on” trades—such as Eletricity, Renewable energy, Tour Guide, Hotel Management, tailoring, IT, Environmental issues and sustainable agriculture—that allow students to stay in their communities while earning a dignified living. This project is not just a school; it is an incubator for future entrepreneurs who will drive the local economy of the Manyara region forward.

The Impact: Vocational Training School Progress and Status (2023–Present)

Since the Jabungu Foundation projects broke ground on this site in 2023, the transformation of the Sarame landscape has been remarkable. We are currently in an active, ongoing construction and implementation phase. To date, we have successfully completed:

  • 4 Modern Classrooms: Ready to host our pioneer vocational students.

  • Sanitation Facilities: Fully constructed toilets to ensure a healthy learning environment.

  • Administration Block: Currently half-completed, which will serve as the brain of the college.

  • Clean and Safe Water: A finished project that provide a permanent water source for the entire campus.

Every brick laid since 2023 represents a promise to the youth of Magugu. Our desire is to complete the full campus by year-end, creating a permanent legacy of education and hope that will serve Sarame Village for decades to come.

Funding & The Future: Sustaining Our Vocational Training School Vision

To ensure that Goldenhill remains a permanent fixture in Sarame, we have developed a diversified model for securing and managing funds. We believe in a “Community-Plus” approach where local effort meets global partnership.

How We Get Funds (Our Resource Model)

  • Individual & Corporate Donors: The majority of our construction (like the 4 classrooms and toilets) is funded by people who believe in the Jabungu Foundation projects. This organizations include Lifetime Project, Active human Adventure, Ubuntu safaris and Tour, MØN MERU, Polytech university and Shiping Investment .

  • Sustainability Projects: Once fully operational, the school will run small “Social project”—such as selling fruits and vegetables from the farm and uniforms from our tailoring department—to cover daily running costs.

  • Agricultural Income: Utilizing the school’s land in Magugu to grow food crops and manage dairy projects, reducing the cost of student meals and generating extra revenue.

Our Future Plans (The Roadmap)

  1. Phase 2 Completion (2026): We want to complete the Administration block, Mordern kitchen, Cafeteria and Hostels after that we can open our college

  2. Workshop Expansion: Construct specialized workshops for Mechanics and Renewable Energy (Solar) training.

  3. Digital Lab: Set up an IT suite with 40 computers to bring digital literacy to the countryside of Manyara.

  4. Accreditation: Securing full VETA (Vocational Education and Training Authority) registration to ensure our certificates are recognized nationwide.
